1 month/4 weeks/30 days

It is now under the 1 month mark.

And this trip still just doesn't feel real. Maybe when you've waited to go somewhere for so long that's what happens? I don't know.

So, what's left to do? Currency exchange is probably the biggest thing, followed by fixing up a medical kit. Other than that, it's only the small things left.

I have already started to pack. And by 'pack' I mean throw everything I think of that may be useful into my suitcase to be taken out, reorganised and repacked at a later time.

Operation Cupcake 3

Our third cupcake fundraising event was held at UQ.

Again, we sold out of all sugary goodness and made a lovely profit.

Operation Cupcake 3 is probably going to be the last of its kind, due to three out of four of us girls going on field experience for the remainder of the semester. Also, the last month of semester usually sees a dramatic drop in the number of people who bother to show up at uni, which means less chance of selling lots of cupcakes.

Countdown update: 3 months and 2 weeks (roughly)

Operation Cupcake 2

Like Operation Cupcake 1, number 2 went just as well, if not better.

We sold out of cupcakes, biscuits and brownies much quicker than expected.

UQ next? I think so.

Is there 5 months yet?

I am constantly staring at the calendar in the hopes that today is the 5 month mark.
Well, it's not.
The 5 month mark is actually in 1 days time.

So, in the meantime because uni is not busy at the moment (so suprising I know...) I have been obsessing over Google Maps and searching for Maldives related pictures to stockpile.

There's this running joke in my family about the photos I'll bring back with me. When I went to New Zealand every second photo was of a mountain... My sister was bored to tears looking at them.
Haha, now I'll have photos and photos of crystal clear water.

And did they eat cake!

Wow is all I can say! We managed to raise $260ish! Thanks to everyone who bought something from us! We've decided we'll be back later in the semester to sell more sweet treats. We're over the moon!

A new brain please?

It's times like these, where it takes me all of an hour to write one sentence, that my mind wanders off to bigger and better places.

Daydreaming doesn't really help me finish the sentence though...
Who knew?

9 months, 3 weeks and 5 days

9 months, 3 weeks and 5 days.

Words really can't describe how much I am looking forward to this trip.

I have created this blog for three main reasons:
1) To give me something to do while I wait the whole 9 months, 3 weeks and 5 days
2) To document my trip (when it finally happens)
3) And to provide any future Maldives UniBreakers with some idea of what to expect - Because at the moment I have no idea.
